Just A Thought April 18, 2009

"It only takes a minute to cause hurt but sometimes a lifetime to repair. Be careful with your words and actions."

Have you ever considered the actual cost of your actions? Everyday we make conscious decisions to participate in activities that cost more than we are actually willing to pay. We make crude jokes that can cost us our jobs, friendships, or status. We do things in the dark that if brought to the light could cost us the respect we've worked so hard to earn, the pride we so delicately wear on our sleeve, or the esteem we've placed so high on the shelf of our life. As much as we would like to go back in time we can't. We owe it to ourselves and others around us to be more mindful of that which we say and do. What you consider to be funny might very well be hurtful to someone else, especially someone who has no idea that they are even the "butt" of your joke. Often times in these types of situations the people we hurt are the one that actually the ones who have our back. No amount of money can ever compare to the value of true friendship, love, and support. When left without either however, money is often how we will choose to make amends.

"The cost of a thing is the amount of what I will call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run."
